When you start playing, one of the coloured squares will light at random and the musical note for that square will play. The text instruction at the bottom of the screen will show that it is "Simon's" go i.e. the computer's. Then the instruction will change to say it is your go and a hand will appear where the mouse pointer was. You can then click on the square you believe was the one chosen by the computer. If correct it will then be the computer's turn to start the sequence again from the start and add one new square and note on the end. When it is your turn you have to match the sequence. It then gets harder as the sequence of notes gets longer. When you fail to get the right sequence you will have a score shown in the top right hand corner. If you have a high score then you will be asked if you want to enter the high score screen to add your name. The number of games you have played is shown in the top left of the screen.
In the middle of the screen is a Speed Setting. Here you can speed up or slow down the rate of the squares being lit. Simply increase the counter by clicking on the right arrow button or decrease it by clicking on the left arrow. The higher the number, the slower the lights are shown and the lower it is, the faster they are shown.
